Welcoming international students – a focus on induction

The conference will consider the challenges and obstacles faced by
international students and will put forward ideas, strategies and a
toolkit to enhance the overall experience of welcome week for
incoming exchange, top-up or full degree-seeking students.

Join us for the annual EUA conference, this year in Glasgow, Scotland
As well as providing the usual opportunities to meet and network with colleagues, the workshop will include sessions on:
▶ Adapting to a new environment: understanding the international student journey;
▶ Experiencing and understanding what it means to be an international student;
▶ Supporting the engagement and experience of international students in group-work activities
▶ Troubleshooting strategies: survival in a post-Brexit world, turning negatives into positives and developing a toolkit to enhance the student experience
and
▶ An update on Brexit and the potential impact on international activity.
The workshop will provide you with creative ideas, contacts and a toolkit to ensure successful induction/welcome weeks at your university.

By rail:
The University is situated within easy walking distance of both Glasgow Queen Street Station and Glasgow Central Station. For details of train times, visit the National Rail Enquiries Service.
By air:
Glasgow Airport is situated approximately 10 miles to the west of the City Centre and is linked to the City Centre with a regular (every 20 minutes) bus service to Buchanan Bus Station which is opposite the University.
By bus:
The University is only 200 yards from Buchanan Bus Station, in the City Centre.
